The IFM have been running specialist conferences for the past six years and in that time have covered a number of topics across the fisheries spectrum. This year we will be looking at the relationship between forestry and fisheries.
We have put together an exciting programme featuring speakers from academia, consultancies, Rivers Trusts and NGO's. To go alongside the main conference there will be a poster session, conference dinner and a field trip on the 23rd kindly arranged by the Eden Rivers Trust.
Although the programme is now complete we would welcome further poster submissions.
There are also opportunities to sponsor the conference should you be interested.
Sessions will cover
Managing forests is acid sensitive catchments.
Impacts and improvements. Where are we now?
River restoration through forest and woodland habitat improvement
Taking action for freshwater ecosystems and sustainable fisheries management
Flood risk management
The programme can be found here
And dont forget to join us for the conference dinner. The Rheged Centre is linked to the Westmoreland Family who are local farmers and land owners. All of the food served at the centre is locally sourced and much of it comes from their own farm. The excellent chefs at the centre are working with great ingridients which is reflected in their food.
