Peter Spillett Award

Calling all IFM and FSBI students!

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Peter Spillett Memorial Award, a bursary of £500 each, for two students every year.

The award will assist two students from either IFM, or our partners, the Fisheries Society of the British Isles (FSBI), to attend courses, workshops or conferences, to aid their personal development.

The award is in memory of Peter Spillett; long-time member and avid supporter of the IFM who also served as our Chairman and President.

Peter did much to progress the IFM and its aim to advance sustainable fisheries management.

We sadly lost Peter in January 2022.

Applying

Please send your applications to [email protected] before 31st January 2023.

The IFM Team would encourage anyone who is considering applying for the award to contact us if they have any doubts or worries. For example, we understand that attending your first conference can be quite daunting, so we could arrange a buddy to meet you and help you settle in. We are sure we can help and advise on how to apply and hopefully sort out any problems or worries.

This Award has been supported by the Silent Auction at the 2022 IFM Annual Conference and a generous donation from Five Rivers Environmental Consulting Ltd
