Sustainable management of river trout fisheries workshops - the IFM held a series of workshops about river trout fisheries - 7th November, Tickled Trout at Preston ; 21st November Sparsholt College; 5th December Glamorgan Conference Services, Cardiff. Topics include genetics (Professor Andrew Ferguson), Environment Agency policy, trout farmers view and the Wild Trout Trust. June 2008 - Fixed Location Fish Counter Seminar: The Tools and Techniques for monitoring migratory fish in rivers. We held a forum for organisations with a fisheries management remit to discuss good practise, look to standardise approaches & identify common development needs for fixed location fish counting systems.

Sept 2007 - Martin Salter MP to Launch Fisheries Accreditation Scheme
The Fisheries Accreditation Scheme, a major new initiative aimed at driving upwards the competence of fisheries managers and improving the welfare of fish in recreational fisheries is to be launched to the Media on September 18th by Martin Salter MP, Labour's Parliamentary spokesman for Angling.

1st September 2009 - Current fisheries consultations - the Environment Agency is consulting on several areas of fisheries legislation at present: the removal of coarse fish, measures to protect eels and elvers, and the close season for brown trout and salmon in stillwaters.
