Environment Agency Launches Econsenting
The Environment Agency is launching a new online fish movements consenting service from today the 12th December 2007 called 'econsenting'.
With its release, the EA will improve the service they currently give to the freshwater fish industry. The new online application allows the user to input their own consent information, for both fish introductions and removals. The system is designed for ease of use, to fit with customers’ requirements and will be available for round the clock use. This new service will run in tandem with the current system and both can be accessed through www.efishbusiness.co.uk
Free online registration will provide customers with a secure personal account, through which the user will have access to their own historical information covering introductions and removals going back as far as 2003. It will also allow this information to be duplicated for producing new consents.
Andy Went Team Leader for Fish Movement Authorisations said:
“This system will make life a lot easier for applicants, the users will have the ability to edit part of their consents, allowing dates to be changed for movement and operations. All consents and confirmations of online consent applications, approvals, refusals and date changes will be sent to the applicant electronically all of which will undoubtedly save time and effort.”
