Successful IFM events:

Sustainable management of river trout fisheries workshops  - the IFM held a series of workshops about river trout fisheries - 7th November, Tickled Trout at Preston ; 21st November Sparsholt College; 5th December Glamorgan Conference Services, Cardiff. Topics include genetics (Professor Andrew Ferguson), Environment Agency policy, trout farmers view and the Wild Trout Trust. Sept 2007 - Martin Salter MP to Launch Fisheries Accreditation Scheme
The Fisheries Accreditation Scheme, a major new initiative aimed at driving upwards the competence of fisheries managers and improving the welfare of fish in recreational fisheries is to be launched to the Media on September 18th by Martin Salter MP, Labour's Parliamentary spokesman for Angling.

1st Ocotber 2009 - Marine Bill progress - the Marine and Coastal Access Bill has reached Report stage in the House of Commons, and will make further progress when Parliament resumes in October. Further information here.

1st September 2009 - Current fisheries consultations - the Environment Agency is consulting on several areas of fisheries legislation at present: the removal of coarse fish, measures to protect eels and elvers, and the close season for brown trout and salmon in stillwaters. 1st August 2009 - Fisheries operators in England and Wales reminded to register - Defra are reminding all fishery operators in England and Wales that they need to register their fisheries by 1st August 2009. 5th May 2009 - Fish farms supplying triploid brown trout - the Environment Agency has published a list of fish farms that either produce or supply triploid brown trout, as part of its National Trout and Grayling Strategy. The list can be downloaded here.
