Tour of River Don fisheries: On Saturday the 21st October, 19 members of the Institute and guests from the Ridings Area Fisheries Forum attended a guided tour of the River Don catchment. The tour was expertly led by Chris Firth the recently retired Fisheries Officer who was responsible for the Don, and as we were to find out probably knows more about the rivers’ history, problems and flora and fauna than anybody else. During the last twenty years, many changes took place that have turned the Don from one of the most polluted rivers in Europe to one of the best riverine fisheries in the North of England.  For a full report and photos please visit the report.
