IFM Welsh Branch Events for Spring/Summer 2007
Wednesday 9th April » 6pm - Hydropower Seminar The Welsh Branch of the Institute of Fisheries Management is hosting a seminar in Monmouth on Wednesday 9th April on the highly topical issue of low-head hydropower schemes [Download flyer 178Kb pdf )
Presentations will be given by the Environment Agency's Alan Butterworth and Charles Crundwell on the ecological impacts of these schemes and the lessons learnt. Peter Kibel, an environmental consultant, will talk about 'fish and turbines'.
The evening should provide plenty of interest and spark some healthy debate. It is open to all, so feel free to pass on this information, but please do ensure that if you are interested in attending that you contact Sophie Arbuthnot to book a place. The event is free to IFM members and £2.50 for non-members (payable on the door). A buffet will be provided and a bar is available.
The seminar will be held at the Riverside Hotel, Cinderhill Street, Monmouth NP25 5EY (http://www.riversidehotelmonmouth.co.uk/). The buffet will be served from 6pm and the talks will start at 7pm.

Monday 23rd June » Tope boat fishing trip from Aberystwyth: This trip is now fully subscribed, however, it is possible that one or two places will become available over the coming weeks.
