Brian Davidson, Secretary. I have been interested in fishing for as long as I can remember and my career in fisheries as such has been focused on fisheries administration and management – so in the course of my work my feet have usually been beneath a desk rather than in the water. My career began in 1984 where I joined the sea fisheries quota management division within the Department of Agriculture & Fisheries for Scotland. Following several moves within the Department I then found myself involved in the freshwater side which to me was infinitely more interesting – involved with policy issues concerning salmon and freshwater fisheries management in Scotland. I left the Scottish Office just before devolution in 1999 to work with the Association of Salmon Fishery Boards, again working within Scottish fisheries administration but now at a much more detailed and involving level than before. When not fishing I participate in running, hiking and have an interest in general natural history.
