March 4th Archaeology of the Tidal Thames – A Fishy Perspective – with Fiona Haughey of the Thames Archaeology Project . Kings College London, Strand Campus, 7.30pm
April 1st Thames Estuary 2100 – Tomorrow’s sea defences for the Tidal Thames and London – with Rachael Hill of the Environment Agency. Regents Park Zoo, 7.30 pm.
April A visit to Billingsgate Fish Market with our president, Dick Hodges – 6. am! Date to be confirmed.
May A visit to London’s Sewers – with Steve Evans of Thames Water Utils. Date to be confirmed.
June Boulogne Aquarium – A Behind the Scenes Tour - with our Treasurer, Matt Robson. Mid-week day time, date tbc.
July An Inspection tour of the Jubilee River – with Alan Butterworth. Date tbc.
September Salt marsh and fish with a seafood lunch. Abbotts Hall managed realignment, on the Blackwater Estuary - with Steve Colclough and Leila Fonseca, Environment Agency and Queen Mary College, London. Mid-week daytime, date tbc.
September Foreshore Archaeology & Fish in the Tidal Thames – with Fiona Haughey. Tidal Thames foreshore at Blackfriars. Date tbc.
October 9th Annual Sherry Evening - Seamounts and Fisheries - with Dr. Alex Rogers of the Institute of Zoology, Zoological Society London. Fishmongers’ Hall. 7.30pm.
October Natural History Museum- Pickled Fish Exhibits tour - with Alison Shaw of the Zoological Society London. Afternoon mid-week, date tbc.
November 4th 2008 Kings College MSc student research projects. Kings College London, Strand Campus, 7.30pm
December 1st Annual General Meeting - Restoration of the European Sturgeon - with Steve Colclough of the Environment Agency. Fishmongers’ Hall, 7.30pm.
