The Irish National Branch and the Northern Ireland branch have merged... Please visit the new Ireland Branch pages.
As we cover a relatively large catchment, we decided some years ago to hold three one-day events each year, rather than a greater number of short meetings. This has worked well and the seven Regional Fisheries Boards take it in turns to host the meetings. These comprise seminars in spring and autumn and a field trip in the summer. The programme for 2005 comprised a spring seminar in Dublin on Char, jointly organised with the Irish Char Conservation Group and the Royal Irish Academy. The summer field trip was to the Corrib-Mask catchment in the west of Ireland, organised by the Western Regional Fisheries Board and the autumn seminar was in Ballina, hosted by the North Western Regional Fisheries Board on the subject of managed fisheries.
